WhelpHQGetting started with WhelpHQ
Set up your kennel profile, add your dogs and turn on reminders, so WhelpHQ can track heats, litters and puppy care for you.
WhelpHQ keeps your dogs, heats, matings, litters, puppy buyers and health records in one place, on your phone or computer. It keeps working when you have no signal and syncs when you’re back online.
1. Fill in your kennel profile
Go to Settings → Kennel Profile. Kennel Name, Owner Name and State / Territory are needed. The rest is optional, but it’s printed on your contracts, invoices and reports, so it’s worth filling in.
- Registered Prefix: your kennel prefix (affix) from Dogs Australia or your state body.
- State / Territory: decides which state’s rules your Compliance Record follows (Queensland, NSW, Victoria or Tasmania).
- ABN and Payment details: printed on your invoices (payment details only until an invoice is paid).
Tap Save Kennel Profile when you’re done.
2. Add your dogs
Open Dogs and tap Add. Start with your breeding females and stud dogs. A name or microchip number is enough to begin, and you can fill in the rest later.
Already have your dogs in a spreadsheet? Tap Import on the Dogs page and upload it as a CSV file instead of typing each dog in.
3. Turn on reminders
WhelpHQ reminds you about heats, due dates, worming, vaccinations and the 12-week litter check. Go to Settings → Notifications and tap Enable push notifications on each phone, tablet or computer you want reminders on.
- Reminder time: when your daily summary arrives (8:00 am unless you change it).
- Quiet Hours: no reminder pop-ups overnight. Feed reminders for hand-reared puppies still come through.
4. Log what’s happening now
- A female in season: Breeding → Heat → Log Heat.
- Already mated: Breeding → Matings → Log Mating. WhelpHQ works out her due date.
- A litter on the ground: Breeding → Litters → Log Litter.
Work with a partner or kennel helper? Invite them from Settings → Kennel Team so you both see the same records.
